Leveling and Counter Rollers
The rollers are the main wear parts of a leveling machine. The work rolls bend the sheet, and the counter rollers, also called backup rolls, support the work rolls from behind so they do not deflect under load. Over time, roll surfaces can pick up scale and debris from cut parts, or wear and leave marks on the sheet. A mark that repeats at the same interval along the part usually points to a roll.
TFON supplies genuine leveling rolls and counter rollers for TFON Leveltech® machines, matched to the machine serial number so the replacement fits your machine. Send the serial number, the machine model and, if possible, a photo of the roll and its position in the machine.
Quick changeover for the leveling rolls is available as an option on Leveltech machines, which shortens downtime for roll cleaning and replacement. If marks keep appearing on leveled parts, clean and inspect the rolls before changing machine settings.
Roll configurations by series are shown on the TFON Leveltech leveling machines page. For planned roll inspection, see maintenance.
Brushes, Flap Brushes and Abrasive Belts
On TFON Surfacer® deburring machines, the parts that wear fastest are the abrasives, not the mechanics. Belts, flap brushes and oxide brushes are consumables, ordered by size and grit for your machine model:
- Abrasive belts in ceramic, zirconium, aluminum oxide and Cubitron: 1030 × 1820 mm for 2510 series and 1330 × 1820 mm for 3013 series machines, with grits from 24 or 40 up to 400. See abrasive belts.
- Flap brushes for edge rounding, Ø300 × 400 mm and Ø350 × 490 mm, grit 60 to 400. See flap brushes.
- Oxide removal brushes and discs, including the heavy slag removal disc for TF-RBC machines and the discs for the Lite Surfacer. See discs and brushes.
- Scotch non-woven belts in coarse, medium, fine and very fine grades for finishing. See non-woven abrasives.
Service life depends on material and use. TFON data lists up to 80 hours for Cubitron belts, up to 64 hours for ceramic and Scotch belts, up to 32 hours for zirconium and aluminum oxide belts, up to 250 hours for oxide removal brushes and up to 1500 hours for flap brushes. Keep separate consumables for stainless steel. The matching machines are the deburring and edge rounding machines and the manual deburring machines.
